What is the difference between a hair toupee and a wig? And between a hairpiece and a twinkle?

Hair system, wig, hairpiece or twinkle. All of them are terms that refer to different systems used for the recovery of hair aesthetics. However, they are sometimes misused and generate confusion.

Twinkle: Wig that only covers the front of the head. Popularly known also with the name of 'toupee'.

Hairpiece: artificial or natural hair that serves to increase the volume of a hairstyle or to disguise the lack or shortage of own hair.

Wig: made of natural or synthetic hair, used on the head mainly for aesthetic reasons (alopecia, cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, image changes, etc.). The wigs cover the entire head.

Hair system: The sum of a base and hair of last generation (natural or synthetic) used to cover areas of the head where there is no hair. Its main objective is to be undetectable at first sight.
There are hair systems that offer a very innovative aesthetic solution, which requires high technology and quality. They are tailor made for anyone with any type of alopecia, using natural hair or hair creation. These hair prostheses are adjusted in a personalized way to all the needs of hair aesthetics.

The base material is fully breathable, hypoallergenic and undetectable. It contributes naturalness and comfort allowing to follow any daily activity, including the practice of sport, swimming, sleeping, etc. It is the best option in hair aesthetics and can only be made in capillary centers where a rigorous methodology is applied. At Mayquel we use the California Star® methodology and the Mayquel® Lace technique.
